Last Fall I moved back to Vermont after two years of living and working in NYC. While I was ready for a break from the city, this move also meant reconfiguring how I had been running Nancy the Girl. When I first started Nancy the Girl it was an online store, but when the opportunity to move to NYC and work/live out of a loft in the middle of manhattan Nancy the Girl shifted away from online and shifted into a physical space, located at 135 W 26th st. For two years I held court on the second floor of 135 W 26th st. It was a magical space. A space with the mission that everyone who came through the door felt welcome and included. It was an environment where dress up was encouraged, and anxieties about clothing acknowledged and heard. I am so grateful to each and every one of you that came and played dress up with me. The community that formed out of that space was so special. My vision of a judgement free shopping experience was realized and surpassed because of all of the beautiful energy of all of you that came to play dress up with me.
